El Sobrarbe

El Sobrarbe is a unique region where beautiful nature prevails: 50% of the region is protected nature reserve. But the region is also characterised by a rich historical heritage, beautiful authentic villages and a fantastic gastronomy. Discover this piece of authentic Spain where there is a lot to do and experience. In a Mediterranean climate, enjoy the peace and quiet, natural parks and ski resorts, lakes and rivers.

The nearby Mediano reservoir is ideal for all kinds of water sports or for swimming, picnicking and relaxing. The lake owes its name to the submerged village of Mediano: at low water level the bell tower from the 16th century is still visible.

The village of Aínsa has been declared one of the most beautiful places in Spain and art historical monument and has a medieval center with nice terraces and good restaurants.

Close by is also the Sierra de Guara nature park, which is best known for its spectacular ravines and gorges. The Sierra de Guara combines deep river gorges and rugged limestone rocks with a large bird of prey population. A paradise for climbers, hikers and families with young children who love adventure. But most tourists come here for practicing canyoning.

This region is ideal for the practice of many sports throughout the year. It is also a real paradise for adventure sports.

The national park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido; deep valleys, high mountains, abundant vegetation, turquoise-colored rivers and one of the highest waterfalls in Spain. In the park there are many hiking trails and you can make the most beautiful (mountain) walks. The park is therefore very popular with hikers and nature lovers.
